Belinda Chhabria

Registered Psychologist

Belinda Chhabria has been practicing psychology for over 25 years in a variety of disciplines. Belinda started her psychology career in the public sector in the areas of organisational and cultural change processes, best practice recruitment and selection, career counselling, team development, behaviour management in the workplace, building resilience in the workplace, social research and training and development. After 20 years in those areas, Belinda changed her focus to a field of psychology that is strongly aligned to her values and interests and that is working with children, their parents and teachers, as well as with adults, to help them get to know and understand themselves and their challenges, in order to be able to meet their full potential in education and life.

Belinda now specialises in comprehensive educational assessments designed to help identify learning disabilities and provide strategies to support academic success. With a personalised approach, she works with students, parents, and teachers to ensure that every individual receives the tailored assessment and support they need to thrive academically.

In addition to educational assessments, Belinda is also highly experienced in conducting ADHD assessments. She works with both children and adults to assess for ADHD. Her approach combines thorough assessment methods with a strong understanding of how ADHD affects everyday life, helping clients and their parents gain clarity and confidence in managing the condition and provides recommendations for effective treatment plans aimed at managing the symptoms of ADHD.

As a therapist, Belinda employs evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). CBT is a highly effective, structured therapy that helps individuals identify and reframe negative thought patterns, leading to lasting behavioral change. ACT helps individuals develop psychological flexibility by encouraging acceptance of thoughts and feelings, while committing to actions aligned with their values. Solution-Focused Therapy, on the other hand, is a strengths-based approach that empowers individuals to build solutions, focus on their goals, and create positive change in their lives.

Belinda is committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. Whether you’re seeking clarity on educational concerns, a better understanding of ADHD, or guidance through personal challenges, Belinda can provide expert support tailored to your unique needs.
